SL5: Ask, and it shall be given you
You're one question away from your best life
What if one question could unlock the life you want?
I’m still grasping this truth, and it’s changing how I live.
I was standing at the edge of a crypt, high on a mountain.
We’d hiked three miles of jagged stone paths, ready to head down.
But the trail was closed.
Locals said it was “safer” to lock it after a certain hour.
No way down.
Then I asked.
Everything changed.
Asking flips a switch.
Before you ask, you’re ignorant.
After you ask, you’re in motion.
A “yes” gets you what you want.
A “no” shows you what doesn’t work, moving you closer to the right approach.
Every “no” leads toward “yes.”
The life you want is waiting on the other side of a question.
It’s not about getting a “yes” every time.
It’s about becoming someone who asks, again and again.
Do that long enough, and the “yes” will come.
One “yes” can change everything:
A “yes” from the love of your life.
A “yes” from a key client.
A “yes” from your kid to spend the holidays together.
Big wins matter, but small ones add up.
A “yes” to a better seat on a flight.
A “yes” to a prime table at a busy restaurant.
A “yes” to reopening a closed trail.
That’s how we got down the mountain, calves glowing in the sunset, moving along the path.
Life opens up when you ask.
Your body knows this.
That gut twist before a big moment is your instinct urging you to act.
The fear of “what if” is real because not asking holds you back.
You don’t need a sign from the universe.
The sign comes after you ask.
So here's my ask: Did this hit home?
If so, reply to this email and tell me why.
I’m listening.
What’s one thing you’ve been hesitating to ask for?
Big or small, doesn’t matter.
